Flipping a name is not the same as holding one
5 min read · By Aston Kennedy

A flip is a trade. You buy a name you believe a specific buyer will want before the next renewal. Investing is a portfolio: fewer names, longer holds, and a reason each one exists.
The costs diverge quickly. A flip dies if the outbound fails. A hold dies if the renewals were never in the budget. Buying and selling premium domains is a process, not a mood.
Domain Investors LLC treats the two books separately. If the only plan is a quick resale, say so, and do not call the drawer a portfolio.
