Classic WoW is different from Retail WoW. Leveling up in WoW Classic 20th Anniversary requires more effort. It usually takes players weeks to level up from level 1 to max level. To level up efficiently, you must know where to level, what quests to accept, etc.
Three Ways To Level Up
- Quests
Doing quests to get quest rewards is the most formal way to level up in WoW 20th, but it is not as fast as farming Monsters in dungeons. Because you may be attracted by other things while doing quests, or the quest is not suitable for your class, resulting in a very slow speed. But the advantage of doing quests to level up is that you can complete quests while doing other things.
- Dungeons
Leveling up in dungeons is very efficient, but also very boring. You need to stay in a dungeon for several hours. If you can form a 5-person team, it may be much better. The advantage of leveling up in dungeons is that in addition to the fast leveling, you can also get WoW 20th Gold and equipment and other items, and the rewards are better than doing quests.
- Grinding
It might be boring, but it’s your only option besides doing quests and dungeons. You can find a place in the middle of a quest and kill monsters repeatedly. If you get bored, just move to another place. The advantage of this method is that it is very flexible.
Team And Solo
Team play and solo play each have their own advantages. Team play kills monsters faster, completes quests more efficiently, and is fun to play with friends. But the experience of killing monsters in a team is shared, that is, the more people there are, the fewer rewards a monster can provide you.
Assuming that a monster can provide you with 100XP, and everyone is the same level, the XP that team members can get is as follows:
- Single: 100 EXP
- 2 Players: 50 EXP/person
- 3 Players: 39 EXP/person
- 4 Players: 33 EXP/person
- 5 Players: 28 EXP/person
You don’t need to have too many people in a team, it’s best to find the most efficient team. In addition, although the XP rewards from monsters will be reduced, the quest rewards will not. You can consider finding a teammate to work with you on those time-consuming quests.
However, never use raid groups to level up. In raid quests, the XP provided by each monster will be greatly reduced.
What Quests Should You Accept?
Different regions basically represent different level areas. If you are level 30, it is most efficient for you to accept quests in areas around level 30. If the level of the quest is much higher or lower than yours, either you will find it difficult to complete it, or the experience rewards from these quests are too small and it is not worth doing them at all. Players can distinguish these quests by color.
- Red quests: Quests that are more than 5 levels higher than your current level are recommended to be put aside until you level up.
- Orange quests: Quests that are 3-5 levels higher than your current level are more efficient to complete in a team.
- Yellow quests: Quests that are close to your level will not be more or less than 2 levels, and you can complete them alone.
- Green quests: Quests that are 3 to 10 levels lower than your level, you can easily complete them.
- Gray quests: Quests far below your level only provide 10% of the experience. It is recommended that you ignore them.
Elite quests provide more XP and WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold, but they are very difficult and difficult for single players to complete. It is recommended to ignore them. If you are a team player, then elite quests are still worth trying.
Choose Dungeons
Horde and Alliance have different birthplaces, so the upgrade routes are also different. Horde players can enter Ragefire Chasm upgrade at level 13, while Alliance players have to wait until level 16 to have The Deadmines. When both players reach level 30, they can leave their respective dungeons and enter higher-level areas, so players from different factions should plan their own upgrade routes.
Horde
- Ragefire Chasm: Levels 13-18
- Wailing Caverns: Levels 18-25
- Shadowfang Keep: Levels 23-30
Alliance
- The Deadmines: Levels 16-23
- The Stockade: Levels 23-30
Advanced Dungeon
- Scarlet Monastery: Levels 30-44
- Zul’Farrak: Levels 44-49
- Blackrock Depths: Levels 49-56
- Lower Blackrock Spire: Levels 56-60
Where To Grind?
In WoW 20th, different races have different spawn points. Players can move around in Starting Zone and Secondary Zone. Players can grind in these zones until they reach level 20. This method will give less gold and equipment than dungeons.
- Human: Elwynn Forest (Starting Zone), Westfall (Secondary Zone)
- Dwarf and Gnome: Dun Morogh (Starting Zone), Loch Modan (Secondary Zone)
- Night Elf: Teldrassil (Starting Zone), Darkshore (Secondary Zone)
- Orc and Troll: Durotar (Starting Zone), The Barrens (Secondary Zone)
- Tauren: Mulgore (Starting Zone), The Barrens (Secondary Zone)
- Undead: Tirisfal Glades (Starting Zone), Silverpine Forest (Secondary Zone)
After leaving Secondary Zone, players of each faction can level up in different areas.
Alliance
- Level 20-25: Redridge Mountains/Ashenvale/Stonetalon Mountains
- Level 20-25: Wetlands/Duskwood/Hillsbrad Foothills
Horde
- Level 20-25: The Barrens/Stonetalon Mountains

- Level 55-60: Winterspring/Burning Steppes/Western Plaguelands/Eastern Plaguelands
Players can arrange their leveling strategies according to the above information. You can combine the three methods for faster results. Basically, you only need 12 days to reach level max.
